It all comes down to with whom your mobile app want to do business with? Are you comfortable sitting in one platform (iOS) or you want to cut across all major platforms. If the costs of maintaining the same native app across different platforms out-weights the loss of power with adapting a web based application, that's the tipping point. In any case it's a worthwhile exercise to enrich the web based APIs. I also think javascript could be a good language to make a "Common web API across different platforms". In addition to the language problem, one thing that hinders mobile developers opting to mobile optimized web apps is the lack of support for web apps when accessing certain device features. For example, a web app cannot access the camera in an iOS device. I think these restrictions are there because of security.
Apparently this is more of a fundamental problem than an adaptation issue. As one Google developer said in IO conference, "If you want the sophistication of latest features of a mobile device you need to talk to the device in its native language. Standardizations like web takes time and by that time you have lost the excitement of the feature". In my view this ressembles human language use where not everything expressed in a native language is expressible in the common international language.

Yes, the primary objective of Secular Sri Lanka (SSL) at the moment is educating the public. Secularization of the Government is a long shot. We have recently joint hands with Sri Lanka Rationalist Association (SLRA) for their Rationalist Day 2011 and it was very productive just like the previous year.

Apart from our online articles we plan to conduct public lectures. You can see the videos on our YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/secularupdates of lectures and some public discussions that we have done so far.

As per your comment "... although recently the focus seem to be more on atheism." I would say this, SSL as a group always tries to "avoid" getting into religious doctrine. But some of our members have written things about religious doctrine because sometimes you can't completely avoid talking about them too. Anyhow our focus at SSL is Secularism and NOT atheism. There is a separate place on the web to discuss Atheism in Sri Lanka and that is Religurd ( http://religurd.wordpress.com )

This is exactly the same in my newly joined Australian company as well. I believe these are universal and never ending issues. But it seems it depends on the expectations of the stake holders as well. Australian market is competitive and time to market is a vital requirement of them( even with few bugs if they are not blockers :).

I have some practical limitations but I'm in progress. You don't necessarily have to become a vegetarian to reduce the intake of meat though.
